Johnathan Phipps BSc, M.Ost – Registered Osteopath and Sports Massage Therapist

Johnathan is a graduate in osteopathy with extensive experience in exercise rehabilitation and massage as well completing a career in professional sport. 3 guesses what sport?!

He’s always been involved in sport and is fascinated by the human body and how it moves. He studied exercise physiology at Coventry University, graduating in 2005, going on to work as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehabilitation and exercise referral at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

He has been a personal trainer since 2005, holds an ITEC level 3 diploma in sports massage and is currently focused on achieving a UKSCA strength and conditioning qualification, adding to his knowledge and experience of sports, exercise and physiology.

In 2007 he moved to New Zealand, lecturing sports science alongside playing rugby, before an 8-year stint playing and coaching professional rugby in Spain. His time in Spain took him across Europe and into Africa as he amassed 8 international rugby caps for Spain before moving back to England in 2015 where he continued playing and coaching before retirement in 2017. More recently on the rugby coaching front he has been working for the Hungarian Rugby Union.

Having recently finished a 5-year degree in Osteopathy Johnathan is planning on spending more time with his young family, getting back into Crossfit, returning to the BJJ mat and any activities to challenge himself.

Johnathan also provides pregnancy massage which can be booked online
